A sandy beach beside Fenit Harbour, with picnic tables and a playground nearby for a day beside Tralee Bay.
Fenit Beach is a sandy beach beside the harbour on the northern shore of Tralee Bay. It looks out to the lighthouse on Little Samphire Island, with the Slieve Mish Mountains across the water. Fenit is one of the Blue Flag beaches on Kerry County Council’s list.
A car park, toilets and picnic tables are close by, along with a playground, which makes it an easy stop with children. Read the beach noticeboard on arrival for current swimming conditions and lifeguard information.
The sandy shore is a natural start for a beach walk, followed by a look around the village waterfront. North of the village a sandbar leads towards Fenit Island; check the tide before walking out. You can combine a visit with the harbour or with the Fenit end of the Greenway, which starts at the same car park.
