The Maharees is a slender sandy spit reaching out between Brandon Bay and Tralee Bay, ringed by blue-flag beaches and rolling dunes. This is where West Kerry comes to get on the water: kite-surfing and windsurfing on the Brandon Bay side, kayaking and swimming in the sheltered coves facing Tralee Bay. Walk the dunes at dusk for the sunsets.
