A brightly painted seaside village at the foot of Mount Brandon.

Cloghane Village, Co. Kerry

Cloghane (An Clochán) is a small, brightly painted village where the Owenmore river meets Brandon Bay, right at the foot of Mount Brandon. O’Connor’s bar has been the heart of the village for generations: turf fire, seafood and trad sessions, with tables outside on sunny days. The village is the traditional starting point of the pilgrim climb up Mount Brandon, and the estuary walk to Fermoyle Strand starts at the pier. In late July the Pattern Festival fills the street with music and racing.
