Wild Atlantic Aways · Things to Do in Kerry · Dingle
Viewpoint · 60 min from our homes · Best for the classic Kerry photo stop · on the Slea Head Drive
The white crucifix hairpin with the widest Atlantic view in Kerry.

The Cross at Slea Head marks the most dramatic corner of the Slea Head Drive: a white crucifix on a hairpin bend where the road hangs between the mountain and the open Atlantic. From the lay-by the view takes in the Blasket Islands, Dunmore Head (mainland Ireland’s westernmost point) and the surf far below at Coumeenoole Beach. Ancient beehive huts and ring forts line the road either side. Come for sunset if you can; it is the picture most people take home from Kerry.
