The village has pubs with music, a couple of cafés, a diner and a Spar. Brandon Bay takes wind from almost any direction, which is why the windsurfing and kitesurfing schools work from the Maharees. Lough Gill is a flat walk around the lake behind the village, and the Conor Pass is twenty minutes west.

Castlegregory is on the north side of the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry, about 30 minutes from Tralee and 30 minutes from Dingle town, on the Wild Atlantic Way.
