At 952m, Mount Brandon (Cnoc Bréanainn) is the highest Irish peak outside the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and one of the most rewarding climbs in the country. The classic route follows the ancient Saint’s Road pilgrim path from Ballybrack up the western flank, marked by white crosses, to a summit crowned with the ruins of an oratory. On a clear day the views stretch across the whole Dingle Peninsula and out to the Blasket Islands.
