Our base here is 59 William Street, a restored 19th-century townhouse with four bedrooms, five beds and two and a half bathrooms, two minutes from the square. Book direct and pay less than Airbnb charges for the same dates.
John B. Keane’s bar is around the corner, Ballybunion’s beaches, cliff walk and world-ranked golf links are twenty minutes away, and Tralee is under half an hour, which makes Listowel a fine base for weddings, golf trips and North Kerry touring.
One house for ten in the middle of town
59 William Street sleeps ten across four bedrooms, a dining table seating six, a kitchen with a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, a travel cot and a high chair on request. There is no private parking space. Street parking outside is paid; free public parking is about 100 metres away. Everything in Listowel is on foot from the door: the square, the pubs, the bookshops, the castle and the river walk.
It suits a family gathering, a golf group that wants its own house rather than a hotel, and wedding guests who would rather stay together. The house is let as a whole; there is no sharing with other guests.
Writers’ Week and the Races: book early
Listowel Writers’ Week runs 2 to 6 June 2027, and the Listowel Races Harvest Festival runs 20 to 26 September 2027. Ballybunion from Listowel
Ballybunion is the beach for Listowel: two Blue Flag beaches either side of the castle headland, the cliff walk south from the car park, a surf school in summer and the hot seaweed baths on the front. It is 18 minutes by car, so a beach day from the house is easy, and the golf club with its Old Course is a minute further on.
