Some of Ireland’s most famous plays, including ‘The Field’, ‘Sive’, and ‘Big Maggie’, were written on the bar counter by John B Keane. The tradition of storytelling, music and culture is now carried on by his son Billy Keane, who runs the bar and is never short of a tale or two!

The house is a short drive from an array of world class golf courses including Ballybunion, ranked in the top 10 in the world and a firm favourite of Bill Clinton. Drive along the coast to reach Ballybunion, where you’ll find a series of sandy beaches, coves, cliffs and caves that are made for exploring.
